I’m Lisa Cleveland, the author of Homespun for Everyone. This site is all about the wonderful world of handmade. The focus is on needle crafts including knitting, crocheting, and sewing, but I also love paper crafts and any craft that involves children. Cooking, baking, and general DIY projects also interest me, and I enjoy trying new things as often as I can.
I opened my shop on Etsy in August 2014, and it’s there that I sell cozy knit accessories for all ages. Recently, I started a newsletter to share my love of teaching and encouraging others to develop a love of handmade items. Crafting is good for you, and it’s never too late to start!
I grew up in Northeast Pennsylvania and graduated from Lock Haven University with a degree in elementary education. I moved to Delaware with my husband and taught for 8 years before having our first daughter. I knew I wanted to be home with her, so I left my career and have been home ever since. Our oldest girl is almost 7 now, but I’m still at home with our second daughter who is about to turn 4.
My earliest memories are of crafting. I’ve always loved making things with my hands, whether I’m sewing, knitting, or doing some kind of DIY home project. I taught myself to knit and crochet (before the convenience of YouTube videos!) and recently started machine sewing.
Homespun for Everyone is a place where I hope to combine my love of teaching and crafting. I want to educate others on the benefits and joy of making things by hand. Anyone can be crafty, sometimes all a person needs is a little encouragement!
